Happy New Year! It's time for NEW PROJECTS!
Winter is here, and there are lots of places that we wish we were going, but ALAS, we are still indoors! New Projects in new yarn always make us happy, so we have come up with a few new IDEAS!
Our Class Schedule is set for the next few months, and we are very excited to offer a couple of fresh projects.
We are having a four week Free Knit a Long and a Crochet A Long!
The KAL is a nice two yarn shawl that is a fun one to make. Done in a fingering weight and lace weight combination, it plays with both color and gauge.
The KAL begins Saturday, January 23rd and runs January 30, February 6th and 13th! 11 am to 1 pm each Saturday.
We have the Madeline Tosh/ Shibui collaborative yarns that were specially dyed for their pattern choices. The Wildbird Shawl is the first crochet pattern to feature these new yarns. There will be a year of patterns coming out using these yarns, so we will keep you updated. Our stock is limited, as the next dying won't be until March. The kits, yarns and custom bags for the projects are available on our website!
Be sure to check out our April Schedule! April is Techniques Month! We want you to feel confident in your finishing, mistake fixing, buttonholes, pockets etc, and most of all, we want you all to be able to crochet edges on your work! All these things just take a little practice in identifying the issues! Come and get it done!
Call us to set up any classes that you may be interested. We shall keep to small numbers, so we can adequately distance in the store. If you need any other times that are not offered on our schedule, we will try to accommodate. If you are interested in learning any other techniques, again just give us a call! We are happy to teach privately or in groups!

Idea Studio Needle Arts is a family owned store, run by two sisters-in-law, Nancy and Chandra Reynolds. Supplying yarn to the community since 2003, we have tried to make creativity a part of more people's lives! Our vision is that everyone that comes in feels that they have walked into a welcoming and stimulating environment. We call ourselves Idea Studio, as we seem to have endless ideas to share. If we can make our customers see things a little differently, or try something a little out of their comfort zone, we feel that we have edged their creativity just enough! We are here to teach techniques, educate about fibers, and make sure that the selected projects are successful and appreciated!
