The Saturday Workshops are 2 hour classes that give you the skills to be able to do the free Knit-Alongs that follow after. The KALs run for several weeks, so you can finish your projects!

Cast Ons and Bind Offs Workshop
Saturday, January 11,  12 - 2 pm

Learn the specialty cast ons and bind offs that you will use in the upcoming projects: stretchy, decorative, provisional, & grafting. In some cases, you can start the actual project for the KAL while learning the techniques!


Traveling Cables Skill-Building Workshop
Saturday, January 18,  12 - 2 pm

Fair Isle Cowl KAL Learn how to work traveling cables for our Beeswax Hat KAL!

Work in the round with two or more colors, using traditional Fair Isle patterns (or some not so traditional- you decide!) Begin the KAL or just make a headband that will keep your ears happy!

The Nelson Pullover - Use the Actual Yarn from the 2014 Winter Olympic Sweaters!

Make this comfy sweater for yourself or for your guy! It works top-down with cabled saddle shoulders. It's the perfect project to learn many new techniques!

Now for the FUN part! We have the yarn that was actually custom spun and dyed for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games USA Sweaters! They found an extra supply of the yarn, so we jumped at the chance to bring in enough for several of these fabulous sweaters! And you'll be trendy in 2020 with Pantone's Color of the Year: Classic Blue!

Learn all the basics of knitting in this 4 part class. First learn how to cast-on, knit, purl, and bind-off with a simple piece that will be used as part of a charity afghan. Then, go on to a project of your choice. By the time you're done, you'll have learned increases, decreases, and how to follow a pattern too!

This is a continuing knitting class that keeps you learning and working on a project of your choice. We will work at your speed to learn more techniques and use different tools. You'll be confident enough to try some advanced patterns because we will work right with you.

Toe-Up Basic Sock

Learn to knit socks that really fit! You can use two circular needles, double pointed needles, or the magic loop! Choose a sock yarn in colors that inspire you and add in a stitch pattern for more interest! Learn to work a short row heel for a comfortable fit!

Make yourself a great pear of slippers that wear like iron! Knit them at a large scale and then felt them down to your size. We love to teach this class because you get the opportunity to learn many different techniques and any mistakes will disappear in the wash! Embroidery or embellishments at the end will make these a truly personalized, too!

Felted Project Bag

Felted Project Bag

Use a couple of fun colors to make this bag, which knits up all in one piece! It's an interesting design and is an easy way to get into felting. Put a couple of handles on it and use it as a shoulder bag, if you like! Felting always creates a strong fabric that stitch markers or pens won't fall through!
