Ruffles Scarf for Beginning Knitters

Beginning Knitting 1

Learn all the basics of knitting in this 4 part class. First learn how to cast-on, knit, purl, and bind-off with a simple piece that will be used as part of a charity afghan. Then, go on to a project of your choice. By the time you're done, you'll have learned increases, decreases, and how to follow a pattern too!

This is a continuing knitting class that keeps you learning and working on a project of your choice. We will work at your speed to learn more techniques and use different tools. You'll be confident enough to try some advanced patterns because we will work right with you.

Felted Slippers

Cozy Felted Slippers

Create a pair of slippers that will wear like iron! These make great Christmas gifts, as well. They are knit at a large gauge using ingenious short rows to shape the sole and foot. You will felt them in your washing machine and pull them out when they fit!

Short Row Heel Socks

Socks: Toe Up with Short Row Heel

Learn to knit socks from the toe up! You can use two circular needles, the magic loop, or double point needles to work the sock. The short row heel creates an interesting ridged pattern at the back!

Pooled Dyeing Scarf

Kool Aid Dyeing & Intentional Pooling: Diamond Lace Scarf

Learn the basics of acid dyeing by using easily available food dyes -- Kool Aid! We will dye a skein of natural wool so that it can be knit to create vertical stripes through intentional pooling! It looks lovely as a lace scarf, but would work in other stitches as well.
